Overview
The CH-5 Rainbow (Caihong-5) is China's largest and most capable armed MALE UAV, roughly equivalent in size to the American MQ-9 Reaper. Developed by CASC, the CH-5 can carry up to 1,000 kg of weapons across 16 hardpoints, enabling it to carry a mix of air-to-ground missiles, guided bombs, and anti-ship weapons. It has been actively marketed for export and is in service with the PLAAF.
