Overview
The Wing Loong I is a Chinese medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle produced by AVIC, broadly comparable to the American MQ-1 Predator. With a 14 m wingspan and 1,150 kg maximum takeoff weight, it carries up to 200 kg of weapons including AR-1 anti-tank missiles and LS-6 guided bombs. Bangladesh operates Wing Loong I in the ISR and light strike roles, providing persistent surveillance over border regions and maritime approaches. The relatively low acquisition and operating cost made it an accessible entry point for MALE UAS capability.
