Overview
The CAESAR (CAmion Equipé d'un Système d'ARtillerie) is a 155mm/52-caliber wheeled self-propelled howitzer mounted on a 6x6 Unimog or Sherpa truck chassis. Algeria acquired CAESAR systems from France as part of its artillery modernization, operating them alongside Russian systems. The system features an automated loading system, GPS navigation, and can fire in shoot-and-scoot mode.
