Overview
All-terrain articulated armored vehicle designed for operations in extreme environments including Arctic, jungle, desert, and amphibious operations — representing unmatched mobility in difficult terrain. The BvS 10 (Bandvagn S 10) features a two-unit articulated design with front and rear tracked sections connected by a hydraulic steering joint, providing exceptional mobility on snow, ice, mud, swamps, and steep slopes where wheeled vehicles cannot operate. Fully amphibious with waterjets for propulsion in water. Powered by Cummins diesel producing 325 hp. Armor protection against small arms and shell splinters with add-on armor kits for higher threat environments. Payload capacity of 5 tonnes with various mission modules including troop carrier (12 soldiers), command vehicle, ambulance, repair, mortar carrier, and cargo. The articulated design enables negotiating obstacles and terrain that would immobilize conventional vehicles. Operated by Sweden, UK (Royal Marines Arctic warfare), France, Netherlands, Austria, and others. Combat-proven in Afghanistan providing mobility in mountainous terrain.
