Overview
Soviet amphibious reconnaissance vehicle operated extensively by Angolan armed forces for reconnaissance and patrol missions. Angola inherited large fleet of BRDM-2 from Soviet support. Features 4-wheeled configuration with belly wheels for rough terrain, amphibious capability, light armor, and typically 14.5mm machine gun armament. Despite 1960s origins, simple rugged design enables continued operations. Used for reconnaissance, border patrol, internal security, and escort missions. Represents extensive Soviet legacy equipment still operational.
