Overview
World's longest submarine at 184 meters, based on the Oscar II class hull. Primary mission is deployment of the Poseidon nuclear-powered autonomous torpedo. Also supports deep-sea research, special operations, and Losharik-class mini-submarine operations. Only submarine of its type. Represents a unique asymmetric deterrent capability outside conventional SSBN forces.
