Turkish defense company Havelsan and maritime firm VN Maritime have partnered with Italy's Piloda Defence to develop unmanned surface vessels (USVs) tailored for Italian naval use. The alliance announced it aims to secure the first purchase order within the first half of 2026.

The collaboration builds on Turkey's evolving unmanned systems expertise and Italy's increasing interest in integrating autonomous platforms for maritime security and surveillance. This marks a significant step in cross-national defense industrial cooperation.
