Türkiye Baykar Unveils Kizilelma Unmanned Combat Aircraft for Export
Turkish defense firm Baykar has officially unveiled the export variant of its Kizilelma unmanned combat aerial vehicle, featuring an AI-driven combat management system and supersonic dash capability. The platform represents a generational leap in autonomous warfare systems.

The Kizilelma represents a significant advancement in autonomous combat aviation, featuring near-supersonic capability and designed to operate from the TCG Anadolu light aircraft carrier.
The aircraft is powered by a Ukrainian-origin AI-322F turbofan engine, providing a maximum speed exceeding Mach 0.9 in its initial configuration. The Kizilelma has a maximum takeoff weight of approximately 6,000 kilograms and can carry a payload of 1,500 kilograms across internal and external hardpoints.
Key capabilities include autonomous takeoff and landing from short runways and naval vessels, beyond-visual-range air-to-air combat potential, and advanced electronic warfare suites. The aircraft is designed to operate in conjunction with manned fighter aircraft as a loyal wingman platform.
Baykar's success builds on the proven track record of the TB2 Bayraktar drone, which demonstrated decisive operational impact in conflicts across Libya, Syria, Nagorno-Karabakh, and Ukraine. The Kizilelma represents the next evolutionary step in Türkiye's indigenous defense production.
Export potential is assessed as significant, with multiple nations expressing interest in the platform as a cost-effective alternative to manned fighter aircraft programs.
