KNDS France Finalizes Texelis Defense Acquisition

KNDS France has completed its acquisition of Texelis Defense, integrating it as KNDS Mobility. This move expands KNDS's defense portfolio in land systems and mobility solutions.

KNDS France has officially closed the acquisition of Texelis Defense, a strategic move to enhance its capabilities in defense mobility and land system manufacturing. Texelis Defense, now rebranded as KNDS Mobility, will focus on technologies related to vehicle systems and mobility solutions for military clients.

The acquisition was announced earlier this year as part of KNDS's broader strategy to consolidate European defense manufacturing and technology. KNDS, a major European defense conglomerate formed by the merger of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Nexter Systems, aims to strengthen its position in the land defense sector.

Strategically, taking over Texelis Defense allows KNDS to integrate specialized vehicle component production and advanced mobility systems into its portfolio. This enhances KNDS's ability to compete globally in supplying advanced land combat platforms and support systems.

Texelis Defense specialized in heavy vehicle suspensions, transmissions, and components, delivering critical subsystems for military vehicles. Operating now under KNDS Mobility, the former Texelis workforce and technology will complement KNDS's existing capabilities in armored vehicles and tracked vehicle systems.

Looking forward, KNDS Mobility is expected to accelerate innovation in military vehicle mobility and expand its product offerings to international markets. The acquisition consolidates European defense manufacturing under KNDS’s umbrella, aiming for technological leadership in land forces’ equipment.
