Greek SCYTALYS Joins Indonesia to Upgrade N219, CN235 Systems

Greek defense firm SCYTALYS signed an MoU with Indonesia's PT Dirgantara Indonesia to integrate tactical mission systems into N219 and CN235 aircraft. This partnership aims to boost maritime surveillance capabilities in Asia-Pacific, signaling increased regional defense collaboration.

Greek defense company SCYTALYS (EFA GROUP) formalized cooperation with Indonesia’s PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding focused on integrating SCYTALYS's MIMS Airborne tactical mission system into N219 and CN235 aircraft.

The N219 and CN235 are vital platforms for Indonesia’s maritime patrol and surveillance, widely used across the Asia-Pacific region. Enhancing these aircraft with advanced mission systems will significantly improve situational awareness and operational effectiveness over vast maritime domains.

This collaboration highlights growing defense-industrial ties between Europe and Southeast Asia, reflecting strategic efforts to modernize regional capabilities amid rising maritime security challenges. The partnership may open further avenues in defense technology exports and joint development.

SCYTALYS's MIMS Airborne system offers adaptable, multi-mission command and control capabilities designed specifically for medium fixed-wing platforms. Its integration into the N219 and CN235 aims to optimize sensor management, data fusion, and real-time mission coordination.

Looking ahead, the agreement could lead to expanded regional deployments, technology enhancements, and possible cooperation on future aircraft upgrades or new platforms, reinforcing Indonesia’s maritime patrol capacity in a geopolitically sensitive region.
