EU-Funded MARTE MBT Project Hits Key Design Milestone

The Main ARmoured Tank of Europe (MARTE) consortium has reached a crucial “midterm milestone” in the development of Europe’s future main battle tank (MBT). This progress was marked by the European Commission’s formal approval of critical project deliverables, moving the program firmly into the design phase. This signals a major shift toward a modernized and integrated armored force in Europe.

The MARTE project represents a collaborative effort among leading European defense firms and governments to create a next-generation MBT tailored to the continent’s evolving operational environment and threat spectrum.
