About Todd Shipyards
Todd Shipyards Corporation (later Todd Pacific Shipyards) was a major American shipbuilding company that constructed numerous naval vessels for the US Navy throughout the 20th century. The company built Knox-class frigates, destroyer escorts, and conducted major repair and conversion work. Their Seattle facility was one of the primary sites for Knox-class frigate construction. The Knox-class frigates built by Todd were later transferred to allied navies including Greece (where they became the Elli class), Taiwan, and Turkey.
