About Saab Kockums
Saab Kockums is Sweden's naval defense division producing submarines and surface vessels. Best known for the A26 Blekinge-class submarines and the Gotland-class AIP diesel-electric submarines — which famously evaded US carrier battle group detection during 2005 exercises, triggering a US lease of a Gotland-class for ASW training. Also produces the Visby-class stealth corvette, the world's first production stealth warship with composite hull. Saab Kockums is central to Sweden's and NATO's Baltic Sea defense strategy.
