Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is a major Chinese naval shipbuilder and one of CSSC's most important defense subsidiaries. Based in Shanghai, it is the primary builder of China's amphibious assault ships and Type 054A frigates. Major programs include the Type 071 Yuzhao-class LPD (largest Chinese amphibious ship before 075), Type 075 Yushen-class LHD (China's first helicopter carrier, 40,000 tonnes), Type 076 LHA (electromagnetic catapult assault ship), Type 054A frigate (over 30 built), Type 056A corvette, and Type 076 amphibious assault ship.
