About Hanwha Ocean
Hanwha Ocean (formerly Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, DSME) is South Korea's second-largest shipbuilder, acquired by Hanwha Group in 2023. Produces the KSS-III Jangbogo-III submarines — the most advanced submarines ever built in Asia with SLBM (Hyunmoo-4-4) capability — Dokdo-class LPH, and frigates. The KSS-III dramatically changed the regional strategic balance. Hanwha Ocean also builds the next-generation KDDX destroyer (Korean Destroyer eXperimental).
