Darktrace is a British artificial intelligence cybersecurity company headquartered in Cambridge, England. Founded in 2013 by mathematicians and cyber intelligence experts from the University of Cambridge, including former GCHQ and CIA operatives, Darktrace pioneered the application of AI and machine learning to autonomous cyber defence. The company's Enterprise Immune System uses unsupervised machine learning to model normal behavior across enterprise networks and autonomously detect and respond to novel threats in real time. Darktrace's HEAL, DETECT, PREVENT, and RESPOND product suite provides continuous autonomous response to cyber threats without requiring human intervention, reducing mean-time-to-respond from hours to seconds. The company serves over 9,000 customers across 110 countries, including UK government agencies, MoD contractors, NATO member militaries, and critical national infrastructure operators. Darktrace's Cyber AI Analyst automates threat investigation. The company listed on the London Stock Exchange in April 2021. Darktrace's technology is deployed in operational technology (OT) environments including power grids, port infrastructure, and military logistics networks — domains increasingly targeted by state-sponsored adversaries.
