Aero Vodochody is the Czech Republic's primary aircraft manufacturer, one of the oldest aviation companies in the world. Best known for the L-159 ALCA (Advanced Light Combat Aircraft) — the Czech Air Force's light attack jet — and the L-39/L-159 Albatros family of jet trainers, among the most widely used jet trainers globally with 3,000+ built and operated by 60+ countries. The L-39NG is the modernized version with new avionics and engine. Aero Vodochody is also developing the L-39NG as a light combat aircraft. The company is majority owned by Penta Investments.
